Libby joined the TCA family as the marketing director in June 2007. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa and received a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri - Columbia. After college, Libby was interviewed from a pool of over 1,000 applicants and hired by Oscar Mayer to travel the country as a spokesperson for the infamous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. During her yearlong tour as a "Hotdogger", Libby visited 27 states where she spoke to newspapers and television & radio stations while attending sporting events, fairs & festivals, and grocery stores promoting the Oscar Mayer brand. Needless to say, Libby moved to Minneapolis with endless stories to share and a wiener whistle for everyone! When she isn't working, Libby serves on the board of directors for her condo association, plans weddings (including her own), and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
When I was young, I wanted to be:
Denise Wallace - ha!
Favorite Food:
Being that I married a Texan, it has become Tex-Mex - I sometimes think I could live off chips, queso and salsa!
Favorite Movie:
Toss up between Happy Gilmore and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Favorite CD/Album:
I am a country fan... Old shool Pat Green is always fun to listen to!
Favorite Subject in School:
Language Arts
Favorite book:
The Talking Eggs by Robert D San Souci - yes, it is a children's story!
Favorite TV show:
Law & Order: SVU
Favorite sport:
Baseball. I grew up in the dugout cheering on my older brother. Then in college, I was a captain of Diamond Darlings, the marketing / "cheerleaders" for the University of Missouri baseball team. I always thought I would marry a professional baseball player, but I guess I have the next best thing... a guy who covers baseball for a living as a sports reporter.
Describe your perfect day:
Sleeping in and waking up happy that I live next door to all of my best girlfriends from college and high school (wouldn't that be nice) and then going for a walk around Lake Calhoun with my husband, David. Then, we would go to the Mall of America for a shopping spree... in a limo. My family (including my little neice, Riley) would be there to meet us for lunch. Next, the limo would be off to the spa to drop us off for a massage, mani, pedi and facial! Finally, we would go to dinner on the rooftop of Stella's in Uptown.
Alma mater:
University of Missouri, Columbia. GO MIZZOU!!!
Proudest Accomplishment or Award:
"Biggest Fake Baker" of my high school senior class - LOL (I really was named this). However, I would have to say my proudest accomplishment has been my ability to be selected for leadership positions - I was the co-captain of my high school's synchronized swimming team, president of my high school senior class, co-captain of Diamond Darlings at the University of Missouri, and had different leadership positions in my college sorority.
Why do you like your job?
I love that I believe in the product - It makes it easy and fun!!!
Family:
My mom, dad, two brothers, sister-in-law and neice are all in Des Moines, Iowa missing me! And... I miss them! David, my super hot hubby, is here in Minneapolis!
